As a result it’s very important for the mother to eat the right foods instead of eating the wrong foods that can harm the fetus. Here are 5 foods to stay away from during pregnancy.

Sushi

During pregnancy it’s important to keep your baby away from the external environment. However, this can’t be done if you are consuming sushi. Sushi has raw fish that may contain parasites or bacteria that may harm your developing baby. Stay safe and keep your distance from sushi no matter your temptation.

Half Cooked Eggs

A sunny side up egg isn’t a fully cooked egg. The yolk is still raw and raw eggs can contain a bacterium called salmonella. Salmonella can cause vomiting, diarrhea and stomach pain. All which are not good for your baby.

Processed Meat

Most processed meats say they are cooked but they aren’t actually cooked enough. Processed meats like spam and slices of chicken breast need to be cooked again if you are going to eat them. If you don’t they may contain a bacterium called listeria which can cause miscarriages and premature birth.

Cookie Dough

Believe it or not, there are people who eat raw cookie dough. Cookie dough contains raw eggs which might have salmonella in it. You should know the effects of salmonella if you have been paying attention to the points above.

Unpasteurized Milk

Unpasteurized milk might contain a bacterium called E. coli. This bacterium is normally found in our intestines, however if it makes it into your blood stream then that can be a huge problem. Some symptoms are fever, stomach pain and bloody diarrhea. These symptoms are definitely not good for your growing baby. Drink pasteurized milk instead.
