Stomach aches can come from many sources. They can be food poisoning, indigestion or even a simple cramp. Whatever it is you need to be prepared to treat your toddler’s aches. Here are 5 excellent stomach ache remedies for toddlers.

Ginger

Ginger has antioxidants that help reduce discomfort in the stomach. Ginger is also very healthy when you consume it raw. The remedy you can make with ginger is ginger tea. If your child doesn’t like ginger tea then you can allow them to drink ginger ale since it contains concentrations of ginger.

Yogurt

Now this one is probably not expected since it’s a dairy product. People tend to think dairy products cause more stomach issues but that’s only true if you are lactose intolerant. If your toddler isn’t lactose intolerant then you can give them some yogurt to get their stomach to stop aching.

Peppermint

Peppermint isn’t as a great choice as ginger however it can still be pretty effective. Peppermint has the ability to relax your stomach causing the aching to ease. If your toddler doesn’t like to drink tea then you can offer them peppermint candy. Obviously the candy is even less effective since it’s sugar but, it will help to some degree.

Chamomile

This probably the best remedy you can make for your toddler. Chamomile: relaxes your stomach’s muscles, reduces inflammation in the stomach and reduces stomach discomfort. All of this combined will definitely eliminate your toddler’s stomach aches. However, the downside to this is that it only comes in the form of tea. If your toddler doesn’t like tea then you are best trying another remedy.

Lemon

Lemon tea is a great remedy if your toddler’s aches are coming from indigestion. The acid from the lemon will encourage the stomach to make its own acid, hydrochloric acid. This is because the only acid in the stomach should be hydrochloric acid. The stomach will over power the citric acid from the lemon and the acid produced will help with digestion.
